What is it?
The buddy program is designed for international students in Tomar that would like to know someone that can help them around the city.
The ESN Tomar Buddy Program wants to help exchange students to establish a social and academic network starting from day one. We contribute to making the start of the semester a joyful and exciting experience for the ones starting a new journey of their life in our city.
How can it help me?
By applying to the ESN Tomar Buddy Program you will get a chance to meet someone that can help you around the city and to take care of all the matters such as:
- Finding a house
- Giving you a tour around Tomar
- Introduce you to other international students and the nice places to hang out
- Introduce you to all the ESN Tomar activities that will happen during the next semester
- Since your buddy will be a native you will get the chance to find out about all the particularities of the Portuguese lifestyle. Finally, you will be able to understand what is a Bitoque, why you should try a Pastel de Nata, be introduced to Fado and learn why the Praça is the most awesome place to hang out!

About the program
Based on the principles of volunteer work this program aims to better integrate local and exchange students who come to study at the Instituto Politecnico de Tomar "IPT", thus facilitating the adaptation process of mobility students by recruiting local students.
